25 Women Artists From Around the World to Be Presented in Times Square
NEW YORK, NY — August 15, 2026 — Twenty-five women artists from around the world will come together in Times Square this August as part of Women Beyond Borders, an international digital exhibition presented by Art Queens Gallery.
The exhibition will be inaugurated on August 15, 2026, and will continue through September 14, 2026, transforming the digital billboards of Times Square into an open-air gallery.
The exhibition brings together a range of contemporary artistic practices, including painting, photography, video, sculpture and performance. By presenting the works on large-scale digital screens, the project places contemporary art within the everyday movement of one of New York City’s most internationally recognized locations.
The participating artists are Alexandra Monteiro, Andrea Niven, Angélique Vivran, Anna K. Sherrard, ASUKA KIM (Myoungsoon), Carolyn Hardy, Chantell Van Erbé, Cherie Daly, Dr. Lauren Jackson, Elena Exenberger, Gloria Carnevale, Ingrid Forbregd, Jolanda Walther, LATANA, Lorrayne Paula, Martha Baxin, Melanie Meyer, Metra Mitchell, Sevim YILDIZ, Sonja Terese Brekke, Hanna Hagelin, Emma Harrison, Marlena Kokot, Natalie Vorontsoff, and SENTIENT TO PAINT (Simona Ray).
The exhibition marks the third chapter of Women Beyond Borders, an international project that explores the relationship between women’s artistic voices, cultural exchange and visibility in public space.
Its presentation in Times Square offers a different context for experiencing contemporary art. Rather than being encountered exclusively within a gallery or museum, the works appear within a highly active urban environment, alongside the digital imagery and architecture that define the square.
For curator Salma Eltoukhy, the decision to bring the project to Times Square is deliberate:
“We want people to encounter art where they least expect it—and to discover voices they might otherwise never encounter.”
— Salma Eltoukhy, Curator, Art Queens Gallery
The project will officially open in Times Square on August 15, accompanied by a live performance from SENTIENT TO PAINT (Simona Ray), See YOU II.
The inauguration will also be accessible through live streaming, while the Art Queens Gallery Metaverse will provide a virtual extension of the exhibition.
Women Beyond Borders is presented by Art Queens Gallery, with Art HERstory Magazine as Media Partner.
